Thanks for all the hard work you’ve put in, even more so for your communication with the fans, and keeping us up to date on progress. Being a fan of such endeavors means a lot of people learn to be fearful of disasters, like the majikoi 85% high altitude stall, the dracuriot disappearing act, and Little Busters Ex/ME 99.5% 2 year stasis ongoing currently to state a few high profile cases. One understands that everyone has their own circumstances and people are willfully donating their time for others with no expectation of anything whatsoever in return, however the heart wants what the heart wants so you keeping us up to date gives us (me) peace. Good luck with the translation and I hope you’ve haven’t had to deal too much with some of the more unpleasant individuals in the community.

I remember along time ago when i was just getting into vns i saw this game and downloaded it unfortunetly i didnt realize there was no english translation so i deleted it dejectedly then out of no where while surfing vndb.com i spotted this game again and saw a translation i was overjoyed then i saw it only had a common route patch but i downloaded it and enjoyed it and now i pop on every so often to see the progress glad to see there isnt much left until completion. The fact we do not often consider “overjoyed and happy,” for the sake of apposition, to be semantically synonymous with “excited,” coupled with the other possibility that you were making use of asyndeton, a possibility discounted on the basis that such a literary technique is often employed under particular circumstances evidently absent, caused us to adjust your sentence such that it contained what we believed could, in fact, be called the Oxford comma.

Just a question, is the editing and QC and such very far behind, or will a patch be not too far from when the translation hits 100%?

I wouldn’t describe our proofreading process as “far behind.” We shall go through a thorough process to ensure superior quality once the translation aspect of the project is complete, but because we’ve consistently accompanied our translation with editing and all that shinazz, it certainly won’t be as long a process as one might reasonably fear based on the tendencies of other translation projects.
In short, it will take no more than a few months once translation is done.

That basically means, that you will need about 3 months to finish the translation of the last route and another 5 months of editing… re-reading, then doing another translation from scratch after re-reading… there is a high possibility that the complete patch will come soon™ 😉

Man, was pretty sick ( still am xD ) with a cold and fever, but playing the common route of this really helped cheer me up!

With regard to donations, I will echo my reply to a previous comment: “Sorry, we will never accept donations. The noble task of making porn games available to all is one we’ve undertaken for the greater good of mankind, so profit of any kind shall be forbidden. There are also multitudinous other problems with fan projects accepting donations, many having been discussed within the community.”

Just finished the common route. Really, really, really good stuff. I basicly binge-read it in every free minute I had in the last couple of days.
Though it saddens me that I cannot progress any further up until now, I’m gonna punch myself to be patient. Thanks for the great work so far, and for the opportunity to read another VN I couldn’t have read without fan translations ever. I am really looking forward to the complete patch, and I want you guys to know that you are darn awesome and that you’ve made me very very happy with this. Thank you! Keep it up!

If we were to come to a definitive release date, then we would announce it. But we would not be able to expect that very far in advance.

Pretty much on the mark. We’ve been cleaning up our current translations (editing/checking/proofreading/etc) in preparation for the eventual release. The completion of Sena’s route is one of the last few things on our checklist.

Hi can i ask what kid of methods and programs are you using when you translate a visual novel? I just asking because I tought i could translate my favorites into hungarian in my free time.

I don’t know about the hacking aspect of it, and I imagine there aren’t really programs that would cover all visual novels in that regard, but I have at least some information about translation.
KanjiTomo (http://kanjitomo.net/) is a program that reads on-screen kanji, which is helpful for those of all levels of Japanese. Even if you have a text document so that you can copy and paste the kanji, it’s still more efficient to have KanjiTomo running than it is to use a website.
That’s all for “programs” in the strict sense, but http://jisho.org/ gives you plenty of information about a Japanese word extending beyond just its meaning, and for more obscure terms, I suggest http://ejje.weblio.jp/sentence/ for an abundance of example sentences.

But how do you extract the script files to translate? Which program are you using?

The method of extracting scripts varies from visual novel to visual novel. You can normally figure out what tools you’ll need based on the file extensions of your game data files.

Well, neither. We’re making a translation patch for a porn game merely for the general betterment of mankind. Yuzusoft probably doesn’t know of our existence, and if they do, they don’t seem to have sent the yakuza after anyone yet.

I’m glad I’m otaku. Partly because I actually understand what you say, and also because I actually found this in the first place. But I’ve also been thinking about starting to learn Japanese so I could translate Dracu Riot. It’s annoying how I finish the common route, then everything is in Japanese… Hell, they even through in boobs in the first moment of Kanji… Why. ;-;

I have a feeling they finished editing all the other routes and are just focusing on Sena now with some of it already being translated. They are just going to surprise us before the end of the year with a patch release after no progress updates for over a month.

I just saw the comment on Fuwanovel that you are going to release the final patch soon. I have read the summary about this VN on VNDB and the summary made me think of a Rags to Rich tag but cannot find the tag. I know almost nothing about it but it look good. Keep the good work. Just hope i will have finish my VN + Anime deadline for spring with nothing to watch for summer being announced so i could try this VN. It’s great to have a life of a NEET and still getting money from the gov tax doing nothing but watch anime and read VN. XD
