Firstly, I would like to apologize that the first Dracu-Riot! patch’s estimate of very roughly two months was not as accurate as it could be, depending upon one’s definition of “very roughly.”
On the plus side, however, the calendar has now calendated to such an extent that I (Fiddle), while previously having forecast working on translation checking at this time, am now available to work on the other aspects of the project that will need to be completed first and that have been in progress for the past couple months. So, translation and editing/proofreading―whichever requires assistance depending upon which is completed first along with my assistance―will move along more quickly; I should begin with translation, as I now am not quite busy like translator Nosebleed, or quite busy and quite incapacitated like translator Clephas. My assistance accompanies the admirable efforts of Decay, Tiagofvarela, Clephas, Nosebleed, and Aizen-sama whom we’ve recently recruited for additional proofreading.
We would like to appease you with a patch for Dracu-Riot! in the meantime. This patch does not contain any of our progress, except for the utilization of a program we created that automatically converts Staircase Subs’ British English to American English, and that we’ve also abused to make many desirable additions to the text. The patch furthermore includes some embellishments that will manifest themselves soon after opening the game.

You said this patch shouldn’t contain any of your progress, but when I loaded my save on Miu’s route it was translated although some names weren’t. Is that intentional? Whether it’s intentional or not I’m not complaining either way lol

Half of Miu’s route was already translated by Staircase Subs. None of the portions that we’ve yet translated are included. Anticipate the impending fury of moonrunes.

No, just “minor tweaking,” if you can call it that. The only textual alteration of the patch, in addition to the Antwonification, is the automatic conversion of British to American English. We did not include any of our work from any other department. I see how one might mistake the current patch for edited work, however, considering how patently superior American English is.

No special procedures necessary; you need only put in our patch (patch3.xp3) alongside the Staircase Subs patch (patch2.xp3).

Thanks for all hard work with translating the game 🙂 I had played it few months ago or even more than a year ago(how fast the time flies) and after completed 1 route which was quite funny i become sad that others are not translated. Btw the difference between american and british english is that big that you have to change worlds or grammar etc ? :p

Well, I can’t think of any differences such that one would have to change grammar, referring to the syntactical structure of sentences, but there’s a multitude of different spellings of words, as well as subtleties like conventions regarding the use of quotation marks.
In addition, there’s also a number of Staircase Subs’ policies that we disagree with or that are simply (though subtly) incorrect, like the excessive usage of hyphenating words. In any case, it adds up to comprise a fair portion of all the game’s lines.

Although we hesitate to offer much detail, Miu’s route is very close to being done in translation, and we’ve encountered a few unforeseen hacking difficulties, but they shouldn’t take much time to resolve. So hold onto your horses, or hold onto the edge of your seat, or hold onto your penis, or something, I forget how the idiom goes.

I tried installing the patch into the main game folder (D:\Program Files\DRACU-RIOT!) and the game was still in raw JP text. Did I place the patch file in the wrong location or was it supposed to be coupled with StaircaseSubs’ patch?

It should be in the folder that’s, like, within the main folder, probably titled “DRACU-RIOT!” If in doubt, you can just put it in both folders.
It should indeed be accompanied by the Staircase Subs patch. Thus, there will be patch2.xp3 and patch3.xp3.

Indeed, this patch shall receive only the most generous Kickstarter to ensure that the already-finished translation is released with the utmost publicity, naturally following two additional years of blue testicles, as it were; thereafter, we shall hold hostage the H-scenes to be included in a premium 18+ patch at only double the cost of the original game, and the bonus route will come later as DLC. For the sake of perfection, this experience will be accompanied by an expletive-filled, NaCl-filled, fun-filled Twitter rant.
